NEW: Student Survival Events

Denisa Emilia Porime
It’s been quite a while since our page has been around and despite our audience’s wishes to meet up, we did not really follow up... Well, now is the time to meet the faces behind this project!

The pandemic situation has made us realize the value experiences outside the virtual world bring, and above all, how important human connections are.

Because we want to feel closer to YOU, lovely international students, we decided it’s time to meet and inspire you face-to face with our experiences.

Introducing Student Survival Talks

As an international student in Denmark it’s quite difficult, if not impossible, to find free time activities that are both fun and useful for your life here.

We understand many of the phases you are or will be going through, after all we’ve also been fresh high school graduates moving to a completely new country (more like a completely new world for some of us!).

We’ve made the mistakes and the hard decisions, we’ve been confused and  received no guidance…

We want to share some of this wisdom we’ve gained along our own journey in Denmark, and thus make YOURS easier and more predictable.

And what better way to do this than having a discussion where we share our best tips and hear your struggles and questions? And in real life! And for free!

In the coming months, we will organize a series of workshops tackling various topics, such as managing your finances, dating life, studying-partying balance and so on. They are all aimed at your own self-development, and especially relevant to life as an international student in Denmark.

What is more, after each event we will comprise the main learnings as articles on our website, so that everyone unable to participate can still make use of those student tips.

Our first talk: “The subtle art of not going broke”

Michael has lots of experience with managing personal finances....both good and bad

In this workshop, Michael, the SSG founder, will tackle a subject most of us have issues with when being independent (maybe for the first time): finances.

While it is rather natural for us, young people, to live off month by month, and to spend the extra kroner on what our heart desires, it isn’t a sustainable solution and especially not a future-proof one.

And no, we are not your parents to tell you what to spend your money on.

We are here to help you live a decent life on your student budget, without the stress of having to work more than needed, in order to survive. After all, first and foremost you are a student, right?

Furthermore, you will find out how you can raise your income without starting a second job, and you even have the opportunity to interact with other student-peers in a simulation exercise.

Find more information about the event on Facebook.

And remember, if you are unable to participate, check out our website later on, for a related article. 😉

We look forward to seeing you,

The Student Survival Guide Team

My journey in Denmark started in 2016 and it doesn't seem like it will end soon. Even though I came across certain obstacles (who doesn't ?) I began to feel at home here.

Student Survival Guide is a non-profit project, started by university students in Denmark. We want to help other students, who struggle with things we've already been through and gained knowledge about. If you want to support us, consider following our Facebook page or YouTube channel. Leave a comment or like, so we can see that our work is paying off.
Thank you,
